Olivia Rombak

Artist · Chapel Hill, NC

Olivia Rombak is an acrylic and watercolor painter from southeastern Wisconsin, currently studying Studio Art and Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her primary focus is portraiture and the human form, creating work that is intentionally narrative and open-ended, inviting the viewer into an incomplete story. Olivia’s art is largely informed by familial experience, mental health, and the intimacy of her closest relationships. A longtime lover of science, Olivia draws on her fascination in biology to deepen her understanding of human anatomy and form, and plans to pursue certification in Medical Illustration to further unite these two disciplines.

For most of my life, I insisted to my family and friends that I would never be an artist. It seemed impractical and truthfully, it still does most days. But I realized that living without my art would be equally difficult, and I couldn't imagine working a career where I couldn't be creative.

When I finally took an art class in college, I decided I'd do what I could to become a professional artist. When I'm not painting or in class, I'm going on runs, playing pickleball with my boyfriend, baking something, or working as a server at a tapas restaurant in Chapel Hill. If you want to help me make art my career, please consider supporting me by visiting my store or subscribing to my Print Club! I'd love to share my newest work with you every month and tell you all about my current endeavors.
